The Aquaness ARBREAKTM 8263 Demulsifier is a polyalkylene glycol which is nonionic in character. This product works by counteracting naturally occurring emulsifiers. ARBREAK 8263 Demulsifier has been found to be particularly effective when used in low salt water brine or in freshwater emulsions. In these cases, this product is often formulated with sulfonates or used as is. ARBREAK 8263 Demulsifier is stable to hydrolysis. This product exhibits exceptional ability to lower interfacial tension and, as a result, has a high degree of wetting activity. For this reason, ARBREAK 8263 Demulsifier can effectively disperse or deflocculate solids. ARBREAK 8263 Demulsifier can be used with effectiveness in synergistic blends with oxyalkylated phenolic resins or with sulfonic acid salts, or in blends of all three, to break crude oil emulsions of the water-in-oil type.
